COMMON QUESTIONS
Answers without the jargon.
These are general answers. Availability, lead times and technical requirements can vary, so ask us to confirm the details for your location or organisation.
How long does a new service take to install?
Broadband is typically ready within 10–14 working days. A leased line may take up to 90 working days depending on surveys, permissions, construction and local availability. We confirm an estimated timetable before commitment.
What is the difference between Home Broadband, Business Broadband and a Leased Line?
Home Broadband is designed for residential use. Business Broadband adds business-focused support and service options. A Leased Line is a dedicated, uncontended connection with symmetrical speeds and an agreed SLA.
Can Talbris support more than one location?
Yes. We can design connectivity, voice and security across multiple sites, with a consistent support relationship.
What is the difference between VoIP and SIP trunks?
VoIP is a complete internet-based phone service for users. SIP trunks connect a compatible existing PBX or communications platform to internet-based calling.
Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
In many cases, yes. We check portability and plan the transfer to reduce disruption.
Do you supply firewalls and security licences?
Yes. We can quote next-generation firewalls, subscriptions and renewal options for VPN, filtering and advanced threat-protection services.
Can you design and deploy SD-WAN or VPN?
Yes. We can assess sites, users, applications and cloud environments before designing, deploying and supporting a suitable solution.
Can you provide Microsoft licences?
Yes. We can quote Microsoft 365 Business and Enterprise plans, Teams Phone, security, compliance, Azure and Power Platform licensing, with migration and support options.
Do you supply laptops, servers and networking equipment?
Yes. We can source business devices, servers, storage, networking equipment, peripherals, warranties and lifecycle support.
How will I receive invoices and pay?
Invoices are provided electronically and can be sent by email. Direct Debit is preferred; any alternative payment arrangement must be agreed in writing.
What happens if a payment is missed?
Overdue balances may attract interest or lead to service restriction under the applicable contract. Contact billing@talbris.co.uk promptly if an invoice needs to be discussed.
What happens if I need technical help?
Use the support route to share the affected service and symptoms. The team will triage the issue and keep you informed.
How do I make a complaint?
Email complaints@talbris.co.uk with the account details, issue and preferred contact method. We will log the complaint and explain the next steps.
Do you support both homes and businesses?
Yes. Talbris has solutions for residential customers, small businesses, larger organisations, partners and resellers.
